How can refrigerated transport become more sustainable and economical? Kiesling Fahrzeugbau GmbH from Dornstadt-Tomerdingen provides answers to this question and has now received the ETPN European Transport Award for Sustainability 2022 in the category trailers and bodies in Munich.
The increase in energy efficiency through the use of the Cool Slide partition wall system is an example of how refrigerated transporters can reduce their energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and at the same time reduce the cost of diesel accordingly.
For the production of the refrigerated superstructures, the company operates foaming plants and manufactures the high-quality FIP superstructures (Fully Integrated Panel) according to a special production process.
Thanks to this production process, the superstructures are particularly impact-resistant and stable, which guarantees a long service life. The recycling of the cooling superstructures (including a TÜV-approved recycling quota) is another added value that Kiesling currently offers as the only manufacturer for the FIP superstructures produced in Tomerdingen.
Kiesling has been committed to environmentally friendly production for many years and has already been certified according to ISO 50001 and 14001 since 2014. The consumption of energy and resources has been reduced in many areas, renewable energies have been used and the roof surfaces have been equipped with PV systems that produce approx. 550.000 kWh per year, with a consumption of 511.000 kWh.
Another reason for the award of the ETPN lies in the efforts and numerous measures for sustainable production around the manufacture of the bodies:
Kiesling Fahrzeugbau GmbH has been producing climate-neutrally (according to Scope 1 and 2) since 2020!
