System solution for home services and home delivery: Fastest loading - Efficient unloading Maximizing picks per hour

Home services and online ordering are booming - consumers today like to be delivered conveniently. In order to meet this customer demand, completely new concepts and solutions are required from retailers and vehicle manufacturers so that the goods, in our case foodstuffs or fresh and frozen goods, reach the consumer well, reliably and, above all, economically. Only with an efficiently designed overall concept can the delivery service be realized in a way that covers the dealer's costs. Here, fast loading as well as "picks per hour", i.e. unloading per hour, are the decisive economic factors for the success or failure of home delivery concepts. Kiesling is presenting such a solution with the HD Flitzer® at the IAA in Hanover.

The HD Flitzer®, a patent-pending innovation from Kiesling, makes it possible to implement the flow of a home service easily and efficiently without having to make any major setups or conversions. The ordered goods are pre-commissioned at the retailer, loaded into Euro crates and provided directly at the ramp in special roll containers. Magnets connect the roll containers to form a large mobile package that is positioned at the loading ramp for loading the HD Flitzer® (Fig.).

The roll containers are then loaded into the cargo area via the rear doors (Fig.). When the HD truck is on tour, the goods can be removed via the 3 or 4 side doors. The side doors provide access to 3 roll containers each, which now function as slide-through shelves. The picked goods in Euro crates or even complete beverage crates can be removed in this way (Fig.). For the driver, this can be done quickly and easily without having to enter the loading area, while all the shelves are easy to reach and allow chaotic access if required, e.g. in the event of last-minute changes to the tour. The simple implementation and the fact that no expensive special vehicles are required make this solution particularly interesting. Leading Homeline specialists confirm the success of the concept during the test phases. Here, access times were reduced by up to 80%.
 

The main features of the HD Flitzer®:

• Pre-picking of orders directly at the warehouse, loading of special trolleys with the Euro crates.
• Loading of vehicles via existing ramps
• Extremely fast delivery to the customer thanks to unloading via the side doors without having to enter the hold. Unloads per hour (picks per hour) are significantly increased.
• Ideal for delivery in large cities where parking space is limited. The external dimensions are compact because the aisle in the body is eliminated.
• System is designed for different packaging units, from Euro crates to beverage crates.
• Suitable software optimizes routes and loading.
• Not a special solution but a multipurpose vehicle equipped with additional side doors.

In combination with a special tour software, the system convinces with its simple implementation and well thought-out details. The commercial vehicle rental company Mercedes-Benz CharterWay offers the system, which is based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, for rent to interested companies for periods ranging from 24 hours to several months, depending on requirements.
