Kiesling Fahrzeugbau GmbH, a specialist supplier of refrigerated bodies for trucks, has two reasons to celebrate this year.
The company was founded in 1973 and therefore celebrates its 50th anniversary in the upcoming weeks. Five decades after Herwig Kiesling Sr. founded the company, the grandson of the founder is taking over the management of the family business.
Niklas Kiesling will continue to lead the company into the digital, electrified and sustainable future.
"Others talk - we deliver" was the slogan Kiesling used to start selling refrigerated vehicles in 1973. At that time, ready-made refrigerated vehicles were available on demand, which provided fast transport solutions. Customers appreciated this service. Kiesling always offered the right solution for the increasing demand of refrigerated vehicles for a wide variety of industries. In addition to immediate availability, Kiesling was also known from the outset for their good stability and high quality.
Since 1990 Peter Kiesling has led the company. During this time, all areas were expanded, another production hall was added, and production was expanded step by step.
Currently, "made in Germany" box bodies are produced on more than 10,000 m² in two foaming plants.
Kiesling celebrated success with innovative products, such as the Cool Slide® partition wall. The system minimizes cold losses and ensures high savings in fuel consumption. The system has established itself as the standard for many refrigerated vehicle fleets.
The environmental aspect was always considered in further product developments by using durable and robust materials.
In addition, the FIP (Fully-Integrated-Panel) bodies produced by Kiesling can also be recycled at the end of their long service life. These are the first recyclable refrigerated bodies to have a TÜV-approved recycling rate.
Kiesling refrigerated vehicles have been continuously and sustainably further developed. In the year 2010, the company already invested in photovoltaic systems and has been producing more electricity than it consumes in total for several years. In 2020, it was possible to produce in a climate-neutral manner (according to Scope 1 and 2) for the first time.
The company’s degree of self-sufficiency is currently being further expanded, e.g. through the construction of electricity storage systems.
With Niklas Kiesling, the next generation is now taking over responsibility and ensuring continuity of the family business. Customers, employees and partners can thus continue to rely on a reliable and innovative partner.
Digital change, the sustainability of production and products as well as further optimizations of processes are at the top of the agenda. In the long term, this is intended to supply customers with refrigerated vehicles "made in Germany" and secure the jobs of around 120 employees.
