Outlook for 2026:
Sustainable production, recyclable refrigerated bodies and customer focus
Kiesling Kühlfahrzeuge is starting the new year with a clear focus: climate neutrality, resource conservation and innovative technologies are at the heart of the company's strategy. At the same time, reliability and delivery accuracy, as well as personal customer support from sales representatives, remain key success factors.
Climate-neutral production through PV systems and electricity storage
Over 1,200 refrigerated vehicles are manufactured annually at the Dornstadt-Tomerdingen plant near Ulm. The high-quality panels for the metal deck layer bodies (FIP body) are produced in special foaming plants – ‘Made in Germany’!
Kiesling consistently relies on renewable energies for its energy supply:
The production halls, covering an area of over 8,000 m², are completely covered with photovoltaic modules. In addition, the exterior walls are also equipped with PV modules.
The total installed capacity is over 900 kWp. This means that the electricity required for production can be covered predominantly from the company's own PV generation.
A powerful electricity storage system enables the temporary storage of energy – for example, during production breaks or surpluses in summer.
Kiesling already produces refrigerated vehicles in a climate-neutral manner according to Scope 1 and 2.
The consistent use of renewable energies and the optimisation of all processes will remain the focus in 2026.
This is becoming increasingly important for Kiesling customers – especially in the context of CSRD reporting and improving their own carbon footprint.
Recyclable refrigerated bodies
Even though the development of Kiesling FIP bodies focuses on maximising the service life of all body components and details, they will eventually reach the end of their useful life.
Kiesling laid the foundation for the recyclability of its bodies many years ago, and FIP bodies offer a number of advantages in use thanks to their fully integrated panels. In addition, they are manufactured in such a way that the materials can be cleanly separated from each other.
Wood, metal and PU foam are not bonded together and can therefore be recycled.
Recycling has been tested by TÜV and a
recycling rate of ≥ 95% and a
recycling rate of ≥ 85%
have been confirmed.
In addition, recycled PU parts are also used in new production, creating an internal recycling cycle. Kiesling's recyclable refrigerated bodies are an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution that is increasingly in demand.
Power House – efficient operation of battery storage systems
The latest product from Kiesling is the Power House, an insulated and air-conditioned structure that can accommodate battery storage systems with a capacity of up to 1 MWh. The temperature in the Power House remains constant, allowing the storage systems to operate at optimum performance and enjoy a longer service life.
Electricity is stored during the day or at weekends and later used to charge electric trucks or for production.
The electricity storage station is already being used in many businesses, for example to cap electricity peaks and increase the power available for charging electric vehicles.
Reliability and personal advice
In addition to technological innovations, Kiesling focuses on customer proximity:
With experienced sales representatives, customers receive competent advice on site that takes their individual requirements into account. Solutions are developed jointly and implemented reliably. The Kiesling team is always committed to the highest quality, on-time delivery and reliable service.

Statement from the management
Niklas Kiesling, Managing Director of Kiesling Kühlfahrzeuge, explains: "The commercial vehicle and transport industry is facing profound change. Increasing demands for sustainability, energy efficiency and CO₂ reduction are shaping the market more than ever before.
We expect stable but challenging developments in the coming year – characterised by transformation, technological modernisation and growing demand for sustainable solutions in temperature-controlled transport.
This development presents great opportunities for Kiesling Kühlfahrzeuge. Our customers are increasingly switching to low-emission and electric transport, and we are investing heavily in innovative technologies, energy-efficient vehicle bodies and digital processes. This will strengthen our position as a reliable partner for high-quality, sustainable transport solutions."
